Needham, MA August 28, 2017 – The Object Management Group® (OMG®), an international, open membership, not-for-profit technology standards consortium, today announced it will host the OMG Cybersecurity Workshop at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans Hotel on Thursday, September 28, from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. “In this age of cyber warfare and criminality, cybersecurity has become critical for the preservation of life and treasure. The OMG community strives to contribute through the management of programs such as the Consortium for Information & Software Quality ™ (CISQ™), Cloud Standards Software Council™ (CSCC™), and the Industrial Internet Consortium® (IIC®),” says OMG Vice President and Technical Director Larry L. Johnson. “Crucially, OMG provides industry specifications, such as SysML® and Unified Architecture Framework®, to model secure systems and the Data-Distribution Service™ specification to build secure data transports.”

At the same time, many companies offer high-priced cybersecurity solutions and services, from small, specialist outfits to giant arms companies. Panelists will discuss how to choose the right solution and to balance it within budget.
