Object Management Group Appoints Retired U.S. Air Force Colonel Steven A. MacLaird Senior Vice President

Needham, MA - Feb. 22, 2016 - The Object Management Group® (OMG®), an international, open membership, not-for-profit technology standards consortium, is proud to announce and welcome Steven MacLaird as senior vice president in support of government activities. In this role, Steve is responsible for developing new business opportunities across OMG and its managed programs (Industrial Internet Consortium, Consortium for Information & Software Quality and the Cloud Standards Customer Council). Based in Washington, D.C., Steve will report to William Hoffman, OMG president and COO.

According to Hoffman, "Steve's distinguished career in the public and private sectors shows that he takes on tough assignments immediately and produces measurable results. Steve's background and accomplishments will be assets to the continuing growth of our business development function."

Steve joins OMG after recently returning from the United Arab Emirates where he served as a military advisor. After completing twenty-seven and a half years of service in the U.S. Air Force, Steve held numerous positions in contracting, financial and program management for air-, land-, sea- and space-based platforms in many areas of the Battle Management Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (BM-C4ISR) kill chain. Specific major program involvements included: the X-29, Space Based Deformable Mirror and Telescope (Hubble), F-15 & F-16 (including Precision Guided Munitions and air-to-air missile integrations), AWACS, Joint Stars, and the Joint Tactical Radio Systems Programs. He has also been involved in cargo, tanker, training, VIP and Special Air Mission aircraft, and special operations as well as a number of space technologies.

Upon his retirement as a Colonel from the United States Air Force, Steve had consulted with a number of Fortune 200 companies and nine government agencies including Department of Defense Services and the Department of Energy. He has also held the position of Vice Chairman of the Board for PrismTech Solutions Americas, where he led the Scottish-owned parent company, PrismTech, Inc., to establish a Special Security Agreement (SSA) company to perform classified work with the United States.

Steve holds a master's degree in Human Resource Management from Houston Baptist University and a bachelor's degree in Business Finance from Kansas State University. His education also includes completion of multiple advanced military coursework to include the Defense Acquisition University Program Manager's Course.
